It has been seen that they're by and large an excess of worry about quick learning methods had been a commonsense purpose behind the doubt of the agency.2 Then once more, this call has not been very much perceived by the legislature as a potential danger to the country's security. These specific calls for conceivable caution seemed to have no particular and solid confirmations of being valid, mulling over them could have been a superior decision for the legislature as assembling the little doubts was for all intents and purposes a valid justification for them to look through the people were suspected to have associations with Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. Here are some different contemplations that could have been focused on: Numerous operators in both CIA and FBI don't have a thought regarding one another. Photography And Art Essay Example For Students

Photography And Art Essay For a long time photography has been utilized to record the most critical of occasions, regardless of whether they influence a whole society, similar to a war, or a particular people life, for example, a wedding. The explanation that photography is utilized for such events as opposed to painting, drawing or chiseling is very basic. It is on the grounds that photography is the most amazing of the expressive arts. Different types of craftsmanship, are stylishly satisfying and significant in their own ceremony, however photography is so fantastic as a result of the force that solitary it has. This is the ability to portray certainty. One perspective that makes photography so respectable is that it can show feeling and feeling a great deal more distinctively and certainly than a drawing can. For example, during the Great Depression the cruel truths were recorded gratitude to the activity of the Farm Security Administration Daval, 186. As of now, Dorothea Lange reported the unpleasant neediness of transient laborers and their families twentieth Century Photography, 1. These pictures, for example, Migrant Mother and Cotton Picker close Firebrough, appear, so obviously and easily, the torment and gloom that was happening too much of the time as of now. There is lost expectation that is so clear and obvious in these photos from the aching according to the pictures appeared. Such crude feeling is rare in some other artistic expression. Another explanation photography is more dependable than different types of workmanship, is on the grounds that the picture that shows up in a photo, regardless of whether it is of an individual or an occasion, has at one point existed or occurred. This announcement doesn't generally remain constant for works of art, models, and drawings. It is basic and regular for a craftsman to invoke a picture of an individual that has never existed and transform them into a masterpiece. For instance, there has been a lot of hypothesis about whether Leonardo Da Vincis Mona Lisa is a representation of a genuine individual. Before the moderately late mechanical advances, it was impractical to have an image of an individual or an episode that was invented. A further model that photography is seen as more reasonable than different strategies for workmanship, is that it is feasible for a craftsman to expound, underline, delete, or even totally change a picture that they are attempting to catch. Indeed, going before current advances, this was unrealistic for a picture taker to do. In light of this, and the former proclamation, from the beginning of time watchers have had the option to believe that the pictures they were seeing were certified, and along these lines had the option to confide in the authenticity of photos. Throughout the years, photography came to be relied upon for its capacity to show authentic pictures for the reasons expressed before. Confirmation of this announcement, is the extraordinary interest for photos in magazines and papers. The paper and newsmagazine relied upon his an expert photograph journalists pictures, much more than on the composed word. They were a universal language of correspondence, theâ one language requiring no interpretation Daval, 190. The ascent of photojournalism made people in general much all the more accepting of photography and the status of the photo: from a record previously, it presently became proof, certain verification Daval, 173.

Week of Disruption, Fall 2018 Embracing a changing world, around the globe

Hult campuses around the globe experienced an interruption to their schedules – and their thinking – this November, courtesy of Fall 2018’s Week of Disruption. A major (and enduring) buzzword in business, creative, and technology circles, disruption is a concept embraced fully by the school and its students, whose ever-curious minds seek to challenge the way we do business from start to finish. Hult proudly welcomed a packed agenda of both faculty and industry speakers across Dubai, Boston, San Francisco, and London, sharing their extensive experience of disruptive behavior in their own specialisms and communities. The result? A 360, up-to-the-minute check-in with the international business world, complete with stimulating conversation, snackable insects, and more than one reference to â€Å"chihuahua or muffin?† Who better to give the inside view than a selection of Hult’s Global Ambassadors, who share their personal gauge of the atmosphere on campus, plus key learnings to take away, below. Dubai On the agenda: Hans Henrik Christensen, Dtec; Ghaith Abdul Rahman, Dubai Future Foundation and Area 2071; Daniel Khayat, HTC; Ramit Harisinghani, HTC On the ground: Yusra Bagosher Having guest speakers from various industries was an excellent opportunity for us to learn about disruptive innovations, how they have impacted different industries and how we, the youth, can be leaders of future disruptions. One of many interesting insights from the day was how the business world significantly changes every decade, thus increasing the urgency of open innovation, involving the youth, and development of supportive ecosystems.  Gaith Abdul Rahman explained how the majority of us are worried upon hearing the word â€Å"disruption†, as it involves change. However, disruption is essential, and it will occur across sectors. One way to prepare ourselves to become the next leaders of change is to focus on technological advancements, and learn coding languages to be able to innovate and survive the upcoming industrial revolution. â€Å"Dubai is on its way to becoming the next Silicon Valley,† stated Hans Henrik Christensen of Dtec. When it comes to the latest technological advancements, Dubai is among the first cities to incorporate them; Dubai is, for example, currently in the planning phase of opening the world’s first crypto currency cafà ©. It’s also important to understand that disruption will not result in a loss of jobs. When AI was first introduced, many feared the loss of their jobs due to automation. However, they did not realize the new opportunities created by AI a study indicated that although 75m jobs will be displaced, another 133m will be created, all the while making significant improvements in every field. Learning about the robotic revolution, in Dubai Boston On the agenda: Michael Cucurello, Hult Faculty; Dr. Johan Roos, Chief Academic Officer Professor, Hult; Mehdi Merai, DataPerformers; Jeff Aresty, InternetBar.org Center for Information Technology and Dispute Resolution, UMass; Jeff Key, Pulse Secure On the ground: Renata Vasconcelos Have you ever pictured yourself tasting a cricket during lunch break? No? Welcome to the Week of Disruption at Hult Boston! Disruption, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, means â€Å"an interruption in the usual way that a system, process, or event works† and the agenda delivered, with guest speakers and activities such as cricket tasting, virtual reality video games, and a silent disco. The dynamic environment was contagious; all students were involved in activities between classes, and I can’t think of a better way to both relax and stimulate our learning. Disruption affects our studies, showing us that we can learn from innovative, outside-of-the-box approaches that may even be more helpful than the traditional ones. I had the pleasure of watching guest speaker Dr. Johan Roos speak about how Hult is disruptive in the business of business schools; and after seeing his passion, I have to admit that I found myself even more excited to be a part of this amazing institution that is changing the game of teaching. What makes Hult disruptive is its global factor and cross-cultural careers; that it is a non-profit run as a business; and mostly, that it is becoming more than a business school, home to disruptive projects such as the Hult Prize. To quote Roos, at Hult students learn about the world, the future, and themselves, and so far my journey has been exactly like this! Dr Johan Roos presents how Hult is disrupting the very business of business schools, in Boston San Francisco On the agenda: Professor Larry Louie, Hult; Justin Lokitz, Business Models Inc.; Professor Olaf Groth, Hult; Professor Mike Grandinetti, Hult; Guest speakers from Facebook, Apple, and Google On the ground: Alma Dà ³ra Rà karà °sdà ³ttir Ask a student on the San Francisco campus why they chose this city out of all the Hult campuses and they will tell you reasons such as: it ´s the city of innovation and disruption, a center of new ideas, a hub of new technologies, and endless possibilities. No wonder many had been looking forward to the Week of Disruption. Amidst midterms and Thanksgiving preparations, we welcomed the speakers to our space. Some spoke about their companies, our chances of working for them and tips and tricks on how to achieve that. Others had just published books, and shared their knowledge and findings. Some had conducted successful TED talks, while others got the whole group dancing, even our professors. I took something precious out of each event. I am especially happy to have signed up for Justin ´s Design Thinking workshop as it gave insight into the power of the tool and how it can be applied in our work at Hult. Moving forward the workshop has inspired me to apply more Design Thinking to my study process. Connecting the dots throughout the week I now know that disruption takes many angles, and that organizations don ´t just disrupt for the sake of disruption, but to create a greater value. This is something that I will take with me throughout my Hult journey and apply to my future projects. It is for these events that we came to Hult, for authentic stories and advice. To shake hands with people who have real impact on the world, and encounter mentors from different sectors, who can direct us one step closer to who we want to become. Students get to grips with Design Thinking, in San Francisco London On the agenda: Dawn Watson, Hult; Ellen Donnelly, The Bakery; Riaz Shah, EY On the ground: Mikki Somera, introducing the highly anticipated, 10th anniversary Hult Prize challenge for 2019, which was presented across all Hult campuses London’s Day of Disruption started with the announcement of the Hult Prize. The challenge for the coming year is to create venture opportunities for 10,000 youths. The competition invites all students with the drive to disrupt the current status quo. The evolution of our world today, as it transitions into the Modern-Technological era, perceives our capabilities as human beings as becoming a â€Å"side dish† rather than the main course; the Hult Prize challenge is disrupting that movement. Disruption has been seen in many forms, used in a variety of ways. As Hult students, we are given this massive opportunity to exercise our creativity. We have the power to build our future with consciousness and openness. It will be exciting to experience and see our Hult community dive into this year’s challenge. Kicking off the Hult Prize on the London postgraduate campus Our thanks to our intrepid Global Ambassadors who covered the Week of Disruption from every angle, across our campuses. Justification As per the information provided by Automotive Products Manufacturers Association, the amount spent on the manufacturing innovation by Australian companies between the years 2007 and 2011 was $4.5 billion. 5% of the total value addition was contributed by the car manufacturing sector. The benefits of innovation have also changed the way supply chains work. For instance, manufacturing of light-weight components as carbon-fibre composites produced using metals like aluminium and titanium can reduce the vehicle mass, improve fuel consumption and reduce gas emissions from vehicles. However, despite these changes, the recent years have seen a decline in manufacturing industry output in Australia and thus, there is a need to make improvements in manufacturing processes in Australian and Indian organizations (Mentha, 2013). Indian manufacturing industry shows a slow growth as it is plagued by a variety of challenges since the age of industrialization. Despite being in the top ten list of the manufacturing countries of the world, Indian manufacturing value-adds is only 1.8%. Even at the time of the world financial crises, the decline in MVA growth in India was quite significant as compared to other countries like Australia. While the average decline in the world was from 5.4% to 2% for MVA, in India the growth was down from 7.3% to 0.2%. It has been seen that lack of technological and innovation capabilities are the major causes of manufacturing challenges. Thus, there is a need for making improvements in manufacturing organizations in India(Alba, 2014). Aim and objectives Aim of this research is to explore the technological improvements that can be made in the manufacturing processes of Australian and Indian organizations. To achieve this aim, objectives of the research would be: Exploration of manufacturing technology trends Understanding of methods used by organizations worldwide to improve their manufacturing practices(Mastellari Renegar, 2015) Exploring manufacturing practices of the Indian Australian organizations to identify scope for improvement Making recommendations for improving manufacturing practices of Indian Australian organizations. Literature review United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification provides the definition of manufacturing as any physical or chemical transformation of raw materials or any components to create new products. ABS divides manufacturing into nine sub-divisions, 46 groups, and 153 classes(UK SIC, 2016). Figure 1: Australian Manufacturing Landscape (Clark, Geer, Underhill, 1996) Australian Scenario In Australia, there is a huge variety of activities that are carried out under manufacturing for various industries like food, textile, wood, printing, minerals, metals, machinery and others(Srivastava Jena, 2011). Manufacturing accounts for the 10% of the GDP of Australia and the two pillars on which the industry stands strong in the country are innovation and efficient people management practices. The techniques used by Australia manufacturing organizations strive to create value in addition to increasing efficiency such that business objectives of a manufacturing organization can be met. It has been observed that organizations that are managed better are able to show a higher productivity of labour and thus, the dimension of the management of employees is another important area of practice in Australian manufacturing organization(Green, 2009). Indian Scenario Lower FDI, lower levels of Research Development activities, lack of technological sophistication, and unavailability of skilled manpower are some of the major challenges faced by Indian manufacturing organizations(Kanda, 2013). The need for this improvement is more pronounced when considering the recent trends of dominating imports affecting operations of Indian manufacturers. Earlier, Indian manufacturing companies were practicing segregation between domestic and overseas market such that higher quality products were exported while inferior quality goods were sold within the country. However, with goods coming from other countries, this strategy becomes ineffective. The competition coming from these imports and from organizations directing entering Indian through FDI, there are reduction in costs, improvements in quality, enhancement in performance, variety in product ranges, and improvement in services(Mandal, Shah, Love, 2000). If Indian manufacturers need to sustain this competition, it is hard time that they adopt newer and improved practices to retain their market value. These organizations may need to search for new processes, new designs and new channels to improve its facilities and bring profitability. Improvements are required in several dimensions including quality, technology, supply chain, and product introductions(Chandra Sastry, 1998). Need for Improvement Improvement in the quality of processes and maintenance of acceptable performance levels is crucial for a manufacturing organization. There are a variety of improvement methodologies that are available for the manufacturing sector such as lean, six sigma, Agile management, TQM, JIT, Kiazen, Poka-Yoka, Process Excellence, Hoshin Planning, reengineering, design of experiments, and so on(MURUGESAN, RAJENTHIRAKUMAR, CHANDRASEKAR, 2016). Manufacturing companies usually make use of scoring system for listing process improvement implementation criteria and study various methodologies best methodology may be chosen for improvement. Most of the Fortune 500 companies have Six Sigma programs implemented for process improvements in their management structure itself(Gershon, 2007). There is a clear need for improvement in the manufacturing processes used in India as well as its human resource management practices need enhancement. Thus, the lessons learnt from the manufacturing organizations worldwide that show good performance considering the innovation and people factor can help plan improvements in Indian manufacturing(Low, Kamaruddin, Azid, 2013). Thus a study is proposed on the manufacturing process improvements such that the practices of manufacturing organizations from Australia and India would be studied as well as compared such that lessons can learn to come up with needs for improving manufacturing processes used in Indian and Australian manufacturing industry. With these improvements, it can be expected that Indian manufacturers would be able to gain the skills of innovating and would bring about more efficiency in their existing practices(Achtmeyer, 2008). Project Organisation For the purpose of this study, a single manufacturing organization of Indian origin would be considered. The chosen organization is Ashok Leyland which is the second largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India and has a turnover of over US $2.5 billion. The research would look into the manufacturing processes of the organization and identify that process related challenges that are faced by the organization such that the lessons learnt from exploration of Australian manufacturing can be used to make specific recommendation for the organization to improve its manufacturing processes(Krishnaveni Vidya, 2015). Conclusions This paper presented a proposal which aimed at learning the methods of manufacturing process improvement from Australian manufacturing industry and apply the lessons to improve the manufacturing practices of Indian organizations. For this, a research was proposed which would include an exploration of Australian manufacturing and Indian manufacturing such that the two regions can be compared and manufacturing improvement methods are suggested. An Indian manufacturing organization, Ashok Leyland which manufactures commercial vehicles was chosen for getting deeper into the manufacturing practice and applying the lessons in practice to a real organization. The end result of the research would be recommendations for improvement of manufacturing processes of Indian organizations. References Achtmeyer, W. F. (2008).
